In episode five of the televised poker show the Shark Cage, online qualifier Zuzana Borosova from Slovakia gets a chance to win one million US dollar. The 25-year old grand master of chess is up against a tough lineup consisting of Jonathan Duhamel, Fatima Moreira de Melo, Griffin Benger, Igor Kurganov and hockey player Jeremy Roenick.
Borosova, who recently gave birth to her first child, calls herself ”a full time mom and a part time poker player”. She has been playing chess for more than 20 years and is a Grandmaster of chess: ”What chess and poker have in common is that the games are egal battles”. And with her background in chess Borosova gets respect from the rest of the table. Down to three players Griffin Benger admits: “To be perfectly honest I’m a little intimidated by Zuzana, pretty much because how she shattered my expectations.”
In the highly entertaining episode, where it is “The Fatima Moireara de Melo Show” for a very nice and large portion of the time, we see both Jeremy Roenick and Griffin Benger enter the cage by calculated play by Fatima de Melo and Zuzana Borosova. And it’s no surprise to see Fatima de Melo, Griffin Benger and Zuzana Borosova as the final three players standing.
Who ends up victorious you can watch in the video below:
