Going into Day 2 of the EPT Grand Final: Annette Obrestad Chasing Her First EPT Title

Annette-Obrestad347 players are still dreaming of the trophy and the big bucks at PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino EPT Grand Final before day 2 is about to begin. Someone that is not dreaming is the two-time EPT winner Victoria Coren, who busted on day 1A. But we might not feel too sorry for Coren as she went on to participate in the televised poker show Shark Cage together with Maria Ho, who also went busto on day 1A.

Vanessa Selbst is out too as she followed in the footsteps of her teammate, when she got her last chips in with pocket nines and was up against jacks. In turn she found time to watch an episode of Only Connects, the quiz show Victoria Coren is hosting at BBC Four:

PokerStars SportStar Fatima Moreira de Melo is also out of the tournament.

So who are left and who to root for now? Well, Liv Boeree is still in, but at the very bottom of the field with only 6,200 chips left in her stack; average is 55,418. For the former WSOPE Main Event winner Annette Obrestad it looks much better as she is going into day 2 with 67,200 chips. Spanish pro Ana Marquez is a bit over average with 59,900 chips, while Kitty Kuo sits with 50,500 chips in front of her.  She did not seem too pleased with her table draw though:

French pro Gaelle Baumann, who came on everyone’s lips in 2012 when she finished #10 on the final table bubble of the WSOP Main Event, also made it to day 2 with 32,000 chips. She took a big hit on day 1B when her pocket aces lost to 88.

Good luck to all remaining ladies. We will be back with more coverage as the tournament progress.
