As World Series of Poker has embarked on its third week a lot of big changes can be seen on the GPI Player of the Year Ladies. First and foremost Vanessa Selbst has retaken the top spot that Ronit Chamani had for the last couple of months. This is of course due to Selbst winning WSOP Event #2, the $25,000 Mixed-Max No-Limit Hold’em and thus capturing her third gold bracelet – and a lot of nice GPI points.
But that’s not the only thing to notice as a lot of “new” names have entered the Player of the Year Ladies Top 20. New in Top 20 is Joanne “JJ” Liu, who won the APPT High Roller two weeks ago. JJ Liu is now No. 6 on the PoYL. Swedish poker player Jenney Westerlund enters the list as No. 8 after she took 4th in Nordic Masters of Poker in Stockholm.
PokerStars pro Celina Lin climbs to No. 11 after some deep runs at the APPT Macau, and Julie Lee takes No. 16 after winning the NLH Double Stack event at California State Poker Championship among other results.
It’s no surprise to see Maria Ho in No. 17, Jamie Kerstetter in No. 18 and Shirley Rosario in No. 19. All three of them have done very well at the WSOP so far. Maria Ho has collected points in Event #3 and #8, and she is sure to climb even further up, when her 13th place finish in Event #14 will be taken into account in the next GPI update. PartyPoker pro Jamie Kerstetter had a nice run in Event #4, the $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em, and Shirley Rosario was on fire in Event #10, the $10,000 Limit Omaha Hi-Lo, where she finished in 4th and took home $146,522.
Exiting Top 20 are Mimi Liu, Jennifer Tilly, Isabel Baltazar, Christina Lindney and Jennifer Shahade.
GPI Ladies 100
If we take a look at the GPI Ladies 100, which tracks the live results over the past three years, Vanessa Selbst is still untouchable in first place. In second and third we once again find Ana Marquez and Samantha Cohen. Ronit Chamani is No. 4 and Loni Harwood No. 5.
Joanne “JJ” Liu moved up 12 spots and now occupies No. 9, while Jamie Kerstetter moved up from No. 18 to No. 11. 888poker pro Jackie Glazier unfortunately moved in the wrong direction as she is now out of top 25.
Women’s All Time Money List
The top 20 on the Women’s All Time Money List is more or less unchanged since last month – except for one thing: Vanessa Selbst has now as the first woman passed the 10 million dollar mark and have massive $10,548,896 in live tournament earnings!
