“Sisters Are Doin’ It For Themselves” at the moment, and the big live results keep coming in. Two days ago Natasha Barbour took home $100k for her 12th place finish in the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open, and yesterday it was Thi Nguyen from Toronto, who claimed one of the top prizes in the Playground PokerClub Montreal Festival.
The Main Event in Montreal had a total of 1063 entries, and Thi Nguyen was able to make it all the way to the final table, where she finished in 3rd place for nearly $90k:

Nguyen first started playing live tournaments recently, which makes her performance even more impressive. In February she final tabled an event at Fallsview Poker Classic for $32,496 and in July she won the Canadian Poker Tour Ladies Championship for $6,000. With this kind of results Thi Nguyen is certainly a player to be reckoned with, and it will be interesting to see, if the young Canadian can keep up the pace.
In November the World Poker Tour is coming to Montreal, and with the amount of talent Nguyen has shown, we wouldn’t be surprised to see her making another deep run.
