Today Vanessa Selbst announced that she will play in 2014 World Series of Poker $1 Million BIG ONE for ONE DROP. When the million dollar buy-in event kicked off two years ago, it was without any women at the tables, and so Vanessa Selbst will be the first and probably the only woman to enter the event.
To PokerNews Selbst said:
“I’m so excited to be taking part in The BIG ONE for ONE DROP this year. I didn’t get to play in 2012, but after seeing how much fun everyone had with the event as well as how profound an impact it had on ONE DROP, I knew I had to be a part of it this time around.”
With one of the best ROIs in Super High Roller tournaments and nearly $10 million in live-tournament winnings, Selbst must be seen as one of the favorites to take down the tournament. If ONE DROP reaches its 56-players cap, the first prize will be more than $20 millions!
Also the highly successful German poker crew announced their participation today, among them Fabian Quoss, Niklas Heinecker, Igor Kurganov and Max Altergott. Much more surprising was the picture that Mr. Broke Living, Jean-Robert Bellande, posted on Instagram of himself buying into One Drop:
Well, JRB can’t be that broke after all!
The BIG ONE for ONE DROP will run from June 29 through July 1. Of the $1 million buy-in, $111,111 will be donated to the One Drop Foundation that strives to ensure that water is accessible to all, today and forever. You can read more about the One Drop Foundation here.
