What a record-breaking year it has been for Vanessa Selbst!
First she captured her third gold bracelet at the World Series of Poker. It happened in Event #2: $25,000 Mixed-Max No-Limit Hold’em, which made her the first woman to win three bracelets in open events. Barbara Enright also holds three gold bracelets, one of them in an open event.
When Selbst won her third bracelet, she also passed the historical $10 million mark in life tournament earnings. No other woman has reached this milestone before.
And if this wasn’t enough, the Global Poker Index announced yesterday, that Vanessa Selbst has claimed the No. 1 spot on the GPI300. Selbst is the first woman to have reached the top of the rankings, that measure the performance over a 36-month period. For four weeks Selbst was ranked No. 2, but after her cashes at the WSOP, she overtook Ole Schemion for the lead.
Vanessa Selbst also holds a fourth record, which poker journalist Jennifer Newell pointed out:
.@VanessaSelbst is also the first woman to have her wife in the winner's photo. (They were just married last year.) BOOM!
