WSOP APAC & UKIPT: No Accumulation for Glazier and Rousso. Coren and Rowsome on to Day 2

vicky-coren_med hatSeptember 3rd was not a day to remember for the ladies Down Under at World Series of Poker Asia-Pacific! As far as we can see, Sam Cohen and China’s Yaxi Zhu are now the last women standing before Day 2 of the $1,100 NL Hold’em Accumulator kicks off tomorrow.

Both bracelet winner Jackie Glazier and PokerStars pro Vanessa Rousso gave the second starting flight a shot today after busting the first flight yesterday. Unfortunately it was not going to be, and Rousso was sent to the rail, when her middle pair failed to improve vs. a pair of aces. Glazier suffered the same fate and the third starting flight didn’t change anything.

93 players will return Saturday to play Day 2. Sam Cohen enters the day with 19,550 in chips, while Yaxi Zhu brings 9,950 to the table.

UKIPT Isle of Man
On the other side of the globe, on the Isle of Man, some notable women took their seat on Day 1B of the UKIPT Main Event: Adrienne Rowsome, Victoria Coren and Sin Melin. Yesterday Fatima Moreira de Melo had done a good job and bagged 91,600 for Day 2, while Norway’s Katja Spillum Svendsen was able to finish the night with 62,600 in chips. Now it was up to the three female pros to follow in their footsteps.

Before going into the event, member of PokerStars Team Online and pokermom Adrienne Rowsome said, she had not played any live poker for a year:

Even if Rowsome had been away from the poker tables, the experienced pro didn’t need any beginners luck and she was able to advance to Day 2 with 36,400 in chips. Unfortunately Full Tilt Ambassador Sin Melin didn’t make it that far. Even though she had “some fun here today” she was knocked out with the second best hand:

Two-time EPT champion Victoria Coren was once again in the driver seat and she finished the day with massive 129,000 in her stack; enough for a position in top 5. Coren scored a huge pot when she trippled up with a pair of tens vs. AJ and KK.

PokerWomenNews wishes the best of luck on day 2 of the Accumulator event to Sam Cohen and Yaxi Zhu and to Adrienne Rowsome and Victoria Coren on the Isle of Man.
