Last night the European Poker Awards took place in Malta, where the EPT Malta is currently in full swing.  13 prizes were awarded and among them Best Player and Best Female Player of the Year.  It was no surprise that Ole Schemion and Liv Boeree took home the awards in this category as they topped the Global Poker Index rankings in 2014. On Twitter Boeree said:

So chuffed to have won female player of year at #EuropeanPokerAwards !!!! Thank you for existing 😀

Liv Boeree was also among the winners of Charitable Initiative of the Year as she is one of the founders of the fantastic REG Charity together with her boyfriend Igor Kurganov  and German player Pilipp Gruissem. Huge Congrats to Liv Boeree on her two awards.

Just a month ago Victoria Coren walked away with three awards at the British Poker Awards. But the popular tv-host, writer and poker player would leave Portomaso Marina Hilton Hotel empty-handed. At PokerWomenNews we nominated Coren for Best Tournament Performance of the Year (for winning her second EPT title) and Poker’s Best Ambassador. Instead WSOP champion Martin Jacobsen took home Best Tournament Performance, while George Danzer claimed the title as Best Ambassador.
